Third Thursdays on the Labyrinth resumes September 16th!

Special thanks to Parish Secretary and Tidings Editor, Merike Seely of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, for such a lovely write up on page two of the September 2010 issue of Tidings.

I am really looking forward to our new time of 11am to 1pm so that walkers can stop by on their lunch and walk the labyrinth. See you soon, everyone, and please bring a friend to the labyrinth. More info on my website!

stay tuned for the upcoming issue of THE SPIRIT OF VERIDITAS, VOICES FROM THE LABYRINTH

Our Journal Team is hard at work on the Summer 2010 "Poetry on the Path" edition. Please keep us in your prayers and look for it on-line coming in late September!

treehugger me!

This ancient cedar is over 500 years old. I am in Heaven standing here in front of it at South Whidbey Island State Park.

a vision of ancient majesty

This ancient cedar did not fare as well just a few feet away. Her trunk was enormous and spectacularly beautiful all covered in moss.....

Be Thou My Vision

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

Lyrics located on  http://nethymnal.org/htm/b/t/btmvison.htm

Words: Attributed to Dallan Forgaill, 8th Century (Rob tu mo bhoile, a Com di cri de); translated from ancient Irish to English by Mary E. Byrne, in “Eriú,” Journal of the School of Irish
Learning, 1905, and versed by Eleanor H. Hull, 1912, alt.

Yesterday in church, the choir sang "Be Thou My Vision" which is one of my favorite hymns. As I reflected on our trip to the Pacific Northwest and on all the amazing natural beauty I was blessed to behold with my husband and son, this song seemed to speak perfectly the words of thanksgiving in my heart.....

Peace to you,
Robin
